It’s not something he will make them talk about, not really, but in the field Blackwall takes it upon himself to make sure they stop for camp and get the fires going before dark, and that there is always someone who can conjure a light quickly around them.ĭorian: Night hides any number of clandestine deeds, but unfortunately not all are the pleasurable kind. He understands it, and understands why they are afraid. Can’t see what’s coming at you, and its hard to fight what you can’t see. But unbridled fear is not helpful either, and so she takes steps to ensure they have what they need at all times to produce even a flicker of light to drive away the panic, and remains vigilant at all times to ensure they are not left alone with only their fears and the shadows.īlackwall: All good soldiers hate the dark. That their leader is wise enough to retain this fear is laudable– it shows a cautious and clever disposition. Vivienne: Humanity has always been afraid of the dark, it is perhaps the oldest primal fear. She resolves to take them with her next time, to instill a respect for fun in the shadows as well as the light. The dark is scary, cause you can’t see whats there– simple enough, but its also a good time for pranks. Sera: Bein’ scared of the dark is a little people thing, both little small and little not big and noble, but hearing that the Herald doesn’t like it brings them down to a more manageable place in her mind. It’s a solid aspect of their personality, and he hopes that hearing that, along with the stalwart promise to always be ready with light at the ready should they need it, is enough to set them at ease. He is definitely writing a fear of the dark into his next hero. Common enough to be believable, sensible enough to fit into their story, and with the right touch of humility to make them more relatable. Should that fear become overwhelming he is always happy to provide mage light to guide them, and to be a calming presence in that darkness until the fear is gone. That their leader has courage enough to admit it to those they trust is noble, and he makes sure to relay that same opinion. ![]() Solas: Even for those blessed enough to see more easily in the darkness such a primal fear is not easy to conquer. Allowing that fear to paralyze them is not good however, and she vows to keep an eye on them should a time arise when they must meet this fear head on. Ambushes are easier at night or in the tangible darkness of a subterranian fortress, and in her mind their leader is wise to be careful. ![]() Cassandra: As a soldier and a Seeker her reaction is similar to Cullen’s– very few good things use the dark as cover. ![]()
